On Sabbath, April 16, Vienna and Mom and I were allowed to go visit Cassandra in Upper Lake. We were given a 5 hour unsupervised visit. This is the home where Cassandra and several other girls are living. The staff is nice and seems to genuinely care about the girls.

Vienna is helping Cassandra "break out"! Note the metal door with bars!

We arrive at the boat-launching ramp in Lucerne. Here, Grandma, Vienna and Cassandra are standing in front of the launching area and the Clearlake Queen paddle-wheel boat in the background. It's available for individuals or for entire groups.

An aesthetically pleasing earthen pier curves out into Clear Lake to provide a calm environment for launching fishing and ski boats. Note that you are walking on dry dirt, not boards or cement.

Grandma, Vienna and Cassandra enjoy a stroll to the end of the pier.

A view of Mount Konocti--a still active, but currently dormant, volcano that overlooks Clear Lake.

A mommy duck and her babies came by the cove to say hello.

Cassandra's got to head to her baseball game. Here she is ready to join the team.

She's on her way to take over the field!

Cassandra catching one of several balls that came her way. One of the stars of the game!!

Vienna watched a little baseball player! :-)

Mostly, Vienna enjoyed the chance to be outdoors on a sunny day.

Jessica's First Visit Home!

Last Wednesday, April 13, Jessica was allowed her first unsupervised visit with Heather in almost a year! She hadn't been inside her house for 50 weeks! She was really, really happy to be home (if only for a couple of hours)!

Heather, Vienna and Jessica enjoying scooters on Jessica's First Visit!

Jessica in more thoughtful mood.

We all went to Noyo Beach today and enjoyed the blue sky and moderate waves. The wind was blowing pretty good, but that didn't stop the divers and fishermen from chasing the fish around. The only fish that I saw caught was caught by a bird. It looked like a bullhead and those are "for the birds" anyway!

The bird loves the cat MORE than the cat loves the bird!
