We had a varied, but really fun Sabbath yesterday, June 25. First we went to Sabbath School and church. Here's a really blurry, time-exposed picture of Greg Webster, pastor, on the left and Dean Jennings, elder, on the right. Pastor Greg preached a really good sermon about Moses at the burning bush. He preached until 12:25 but Vienna was really good the whole time. She's sitting with me in the sanctuary now--not the Mother's Room.
After church we went down to Noyo Beach and played in the sand for awhile. The ocean was calm and sky was mixed sun and clouds. Warm with only a little breeze. Very nice! Much too soon, it was time to go.
After we got back to the truck, I looked across the river and there was a weird sight. This is not a great picture, but there is a patch of dirt, about the size of a sheet of plywood, with grass and flowering plants. It's flexible and rolls with the waves, but it isn't coming apart and it looks like a little island! It slowly made its way to the sea.
Looking back toward the harbor I got this shot of the new Noyo Bridge. It's huge, but not as ugly as I had expected when they began.
Then we went down to the mooring basin and walked out on B dock and C dock. At the very end of C dock was a sleeping seal. I tried to get close to get a good shot, but this was the best I could do before....
He would swing his head sideways with such force that it could easily knock you off your feet. Blow the picture up and check out the teeth!
Here's the reason for his attitude. Heidi got to within 8 feet or so before he actually began to take steps toward her! Quickly! You should have seen Heidi run away! He's pretty intimidating!
Next we went to a social at the church. A mexican fiesta with food, fellowship and a pinata. Supposedly this girl can't see through the "blindfold", but notice the way she is directly coming toward me. I guess she didn't appreciate being photographed as she completely missed the pinata!
Vienna's studying the game and planning her strategy. Heidi's looking around to see if anyone has dared to notice that she is having a little spill problem with her drink.
Julie felt like she really ought to be given another chance...it's only fair! And no, she's NOT WEARING a blindfold! Don't ask again!
Tabitha holding Vicky's son Landon, Pam Lambeth, Heidi's roommate, Corlene Lambeth, Harold Lambeth, and Vienna. Note that they are all laughing and happy except Vienna. This is a very serious activity. She seriously wants to get to the insides of the pinata.
The pastor, Greg Webster, sitting at a table of those who believe they are above the silliness. I think he's trying to convert them.
Lowell is ready to pull the rope on the trap door. Evelyn thinks it's gonna be funny, but she can't bring herself to watch.
Jonathan's sister, Becky, tries to mislead this guy about the direction of the pinata. But he was finally successful.

Mom made a new friend at the beach. The new friend is showing her age. But she smiles a lot, and that makes her attractive.
